CANS: Child Adolescent Needs and Strengths Certification Training for Massachusetts (credits)

Berkshire AHEC provides health professionals with Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for the new 8 hour online UMass Medical School Massachusetts CANS Training Program. There is a $80 fee for Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Nursing, Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) and Social Workers and $115 fee for Psychologists. Please allow up to 3 weeks for your certificate to be processed.

The Massachusetts Child & Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) training is for clinicians in certain levels of care who provide behavioral health assessments to MassHealth children and youth under the age of 21. These clinicians are required to complete this training and certification in order to provide behavioral health assessments if they are enrolled as a MassHealth provider or a network provider in one of MassHealth’s contracted managed care entities.

The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
